After receiving this cookware set, I was pleased to see a distinctive looking collection of copper cookware that I could proudly show in my kitchen.
It has a traditional touch to it, as well as contemporary lines, so it can stick to both outlets. If I’ve defined the previous collection as distinctive, then this one has got to be called elegant because it’s really lavish and justifies its high price. It has tri-ply stainless steel clad construction with copper finish, as the name indicates.
The set is comprised of six components and four lids made of stainless steel, but some lids can accommodate more than one container or bowl so you always have a suitable cover for each item you are using. The components included are 1.5 qt casserole, 2.5 qt casserole with helper handle, 4 qt saute pan, 6 qt stockpot, and two 8 “and 10” skillets.
The cooking area is not no-stick, it is produced of extremely polished stainless steel, but I used some cooking oil and had no problems with it. I also didn’t have any issues with riveting stainless steel handles because they remain cool to the skin. The lids fit perfectly on the rim, and almost no evaporation occurs, so the smells remain in the pans.
The outer copper paint is super-sensitive, on the other hand, and readily tarnishes. Copper seems to come off with every wash. The cookware is also not safe for the dishwasher. I even attempted to polish it, but after being used only a few times it still showed many indications of use.

I was in love with this Lagostina cookware collection as soon as I saw the item’s traditional-looking forged copper interior. But the beautiful vintage look isn’t the only reason I enjoyed this collection, it also has a high-quality try-ply framework and I could see excellent heat control and preservation as soon as I used it for the first time.
The set contains: skillet (8″), skillet (10″), 2qt and 3qt saucepans with lids, 3qt deep saute pan with a lid and a 6qt stockpot with a lid. In fact, in this single collection, you’ve got all the cookware you need to prepare food for an ordinary household.
The interior is produced completely of stainless steel, and the heart is a dense aluminum that radiates heat. Some items stick to the surface, but steel is certainly a healthier choice than non-stick products to prepare your meals. It helps to maintain the flavors as well. Handles are convenient and never get too warm for holding.
Unfortunately, it has to be hand-washed like most copper cookware. As a matter of fact, you should use gentle detergents and specific copper cleaners at least once a month if you want to prevent surface color discoloration.
Matfer 915901 Bourgeat Copper Cookware Set
This Bourgeat set is fabricated out of sheer copper, externally 2.5 mm thick and inside covered with 1.1 mm of glossy stainless steel. It’s a true piece of art, and it’s created in France like most masterpieces.
The set consists of one 5 3/4 Qt. casserole with (9 1/2”), 2 5/8 Qt. saucepan (7 1/8″), 2 3/4 Qt. flared saute pan (9 1/2″), 5 1/4 Qt. Brazier (11″), and four matching lids.
If the looks don’t convince you to spend your money on them, it will surely be the culinary efficiency. It heats up in seconds and evenly distributes the heat. There’s no need for elevated temperatures, but if you want to prevent sticking, you should always use some oil or butter.
If regular washing does not remove any leftovers, soak the cookware for about ten minutes and wipe it off to clean it. Do not use a dishwasher at all. The set is compliant with all forms of heat except for induction.
If you are hoping to retain the luxurious look for years to come, polishing is a must. Unfortunately, this quite costly set did not include instructions on how to best care for it, provided by the supplier.
Mauviel M’heritage M250B 2.5mm Copper Cookware Set With Bronze Handles
This is the second collection that will be quite expensive but also hi-end and demonstrates it, it has a lifetime guarantee!
It includes one more item than the previous copper set and consists of 1.9 qt. and 2.7 qt. saucepans with lids, 3.2 qt. saute pan with lid, 6.4 qt. stockpot with lid, and a skillet (10’’).
These items should be everything you need to have around your kitchen, so if you purchase this collection, you can sell your outdated cookware and hold a yard sale to get some of the cash spent back.
Aside from joking, this copper set is really great and made of 90% 2.5-mm thick copper covered with 10% 18/10 stainless steel. The handles are manufactured out of bronze polished. French craftsmanship is once again accountable for its beauty.
While cooking, I had no problems, quite the opposite, it was a wonderful experience worth the cash spent. When using this copper cookware, the control one has overcooking is incredible.
The only complaint I have are somewhat poorly made handles, and when I state that I mean compared to the other components of this collection, they just seem a little less luxurious. The set can be used in the oven and is compliant with any stovetop.
